PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This Civil War Light Cavalry Saber is in fair condition showing some wear and battlefield damage. Saber is marked to one side of ricasso: U.S. C.E.W. 2 1864. Other side is maker marked Mansfield & Lamb Forestdale R.I. . Grip has wire wrap but no leather remains. Blade shows some greying but no pitting. There are some sword nicks to blade. Blade measures 35 1/4 inches in length. Basket guard is bent as though trampled by a horse or wagon. Definitely looks like a battlefield pickup. No scabbard.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This Civil War US Model 1840 N.C.O. Sword is in real nice condition. I believe this sword to be unissued. Blade is bright with no nicks or sharpening. There is couple specks of greying by ricasso area. Pommel and grip have a great patina. Leather scabbard is solid having a nicely done repair about 1 1/2 inches up from top of drag. This can be seen in last photo. Drag is inspector marked A.D.K. . Blade is marked US A.D.K. 1864 to one side and Made by Ames Mfg. Chicopee Mass. to other side. All around very nice sword.
