PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: This Civil War M1855 Bayonet & Scabbard are in real nice condition showing some light age. Socket bayonet is nice with no rust or pitting. Bayonet is U.S. marked. Scabbard is in great condition for it's age. It is very solid and supple with no damage. Scabbard is embossed to one side : G.T.W. Woodbury U.S. Old. Dept. U.S. Inspector. Not real sure about the first three initials of his name. Other side of scabbard is embossed : W.M. Wilkinson Maker Springfield Mass. . Nice all around bayonet and scabbard with no issues.
